Description
Tahitian pearls are grown in several of the islands of French Polynesia, not only Tahiti. Often called black pearls, their colors include grey, green, blue and even purple.
They are created in the black lipped pearl oyster which can measure anywhere from 6-12″ in diameter. The oyster itself grows for about 2 years before it begins the process of pearl creation. After a grafting procedure is completed, the oyster is left to grow for another year and a half before the pearl is extracted at a very particular time.
Our pearl strand measures 18 inches with pearls measuring 11.12mm. It has a 14K white gold clasp to complete its elegance.
