Our Chain Repair and Clasp Replacement Process

We understand that even the smallest repair can carry significant meaning, which is why every piece is approached with focus, respect, and technical precision.
Because chain repair and clasp replacement is both structural and aesthetic, we look beyond the obvious break. Our jewelers evaluate how the necklace or bracelet was originally constructed, how it has worn over time, and what method of repair will best preserve its strength and appearance. Every decision is made to ensure the repair blends seamlessly while reinforcing the integrity of the entire piece. The result is not a quick fix, but a thoughtful restoration designed to support years of confident wear.
Our process is deliberate and thorough:
1. Comprehensive Inspection
We examine the entire chain, not just the visible break, assessing overall condition, construction, and wear patterns.
2. Structural Assessment
Weak links, worn jump rings, and stressed connection points are identified to prevent future failure.
3. Precise Metal Matching
We carefully match metal type, color, and composition to ensure both strength and visual continuity.
4. Expert Repair or Rebuilding
Depending on the damage, we perform professional soldering, link reconstruction, or clasp replacement using techniques appropriate to the chain’s design.
5. Refinishing & Polishing
The repaired area is refined and blended so the chain maintains a seamless appearance.
6. Final Integrity Testing
Before it leaves our workshop, the chain is tested for durability and secure wear.
Professional Chain Repair

Chains break for many reasons. Sometimes it is gradual wear. Other times it is a sudden tug, a caught pendant, or an unexpected pull.
In the right hands, your chain can be restored with strength, balance, and lasting durability. Our jewelers have extensive experience repairing broken and damaged chains of all types and constructions.
Every chain is evaluated individually. We carefully inspect surrounding links, examine connection points, test for weak areas, and ensure the repair restores both structural integrity and visual continuity.
Types of chains we regularly repair:
-
- Gold chains
- Silver chains
- Platinum chains
- Hollow and solid link necklaces
- Rope, box, cable, curb, Figaro, and specialty chains
- Broken jump rings
- Worn or thinned connection points
Our goal is simple. When you wear your necklace again, you should not be thinking about where it broke. You should simply feel confident wearing it.
Clasp Replacement & Security Upgrades

Clasps are the quiet workhorses of a necklace or bracelets. Over time, springs weaken, mechanisms fail, and small fractures form that you cannot see until the necklace falls.
We carefully match the metal type, color tone, weight, and proportion of your chain so the replacement feels seamless. Many clients choose to upgrade to a more secure clasp for additional peace of mind, especially on sentimental or high-value pieces.
We replace and upgrade:
-
- Lobster clasps
- Spring ring clasps
- Box clasps
- Magnetic clasps
- Safety catches
